Challenge #2: Create a shaped card

Hello Everyone,

Today on my Ustream show, we made a shaped card. So my challenge to you, is to do the same. Take an A2 sized card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches and turn it into something else, what ever you want! A bird, a baseball mitt, a car, a flowerpot, you name it. The shape you come up with should be recognizable as the object, and it should be a functioning card. It can be any occasion you like. The video below shows the birdhouse cards I made, and an example of a flowerpot card.

You can film a video response and enter via YouTube or you can use the linky tools here to upload a photo of your shaped card. I will choose a few winners next Sunday of some goodies from my stash, most likely stamps, and that sort of thing.

Have fun, and be creative!

Thanks for watching!

  1. AWESOME! Thank you for the challenge....I'll do my best! I can't wait to see what the rest of the gang does too. :)

  2. Great Challenge Laurel! My offering is kinda a cheat as they are not newly made but they are made by me. I hand drew them and of course their little expressions are all very unique from each other. All of them start as an A2 standard card base and I just kinda whittled away everything that didn't belong... The fold of the card is on a tail and or tail/ear combo. Please click on the links below and enjoy for no other reason than the whimsy they were born from. Linda aka Oz

  3. I created a shaped card for this challenge and I'm not sure how to post it here. I linked your challenge to my blog and posted the shaped card here.
I hope that works. I'd appreciate if you could let me know thanks. Carole

  4. Sheesh I'm late I'm late for a very important date! Forgive me gang...I tried. My YouTube showing my card went up at 8 PM EST.
I had fun and guess I need to give this card to myself 'cause I'm sick that I didn't get 'er done sooner.
    Peace and Love, Dar
