Stampin Sundays...early post

Hello!

I am trying to get a headstart on things, as I go back to work in the real world on Monday! No more working from home....

So, the video is early... just some cards I have been working on for the box in my desk. I always keep some birthday and thank you as well as plain cards on hand. Never know what you need to distribute to guests of the hotel or team mates.

Everything was made using scraps and SU! Inks. Also used was the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, misc ribbon- mostly SU!, Stickles, and one of the new SU! hostess sets... Goody Goody Gumdrops.

The box was cased from a tutorial by Beate Johns on Split Coast Stampers.

Hope you enjoy!

Kit of the Month Club- January

Hello All!

Just wanted to let you know about the update to the Kit of the Month selections for January. This order will be going in after February 1st to allow those who would like to take advantage of the Sale-a-bration benefits. For every $50 in product purchased, you get to choose a free Sale-a-bration product out of the mini catalog. If you don't have one, please let me know, and I will get one to you.

The kit of the month is a preselected purchase program through me. I select some coordinating items, Designer Series Paper, 12 x 12 Cardstock, Ribbon (1/4 inch grosgrain), a specific color of Stamp pad and a marker, and set a price of $30 plus tax & shipping. If you attend one of my events, shipping is free. If you have the stamp pad color or ribbon color, as an example and need to make a switch of color, just drop me an e-mail, and I will switch it for you.

All orders need to be in to me by 2/1/09, and I appreciate payment no later than 2/7/09.

January Selections:

Designer Series Paper: Raspberry Tart
12 x 12 Cardstock: Multi Pack of In-Colors or may trade for color of choice, or for $1.50 additional, select Button Bouquet Designer Buttons instead of cardstock
Ribbon: Rose Red 1/4 grosgrain ( or color of your choice)
Classic Stamp Pad: Rose Red (or color of your choice)
Marker: Rose Red (or color of your choice)

For the basic kit with no changes total after tax and shipping is:$35.10. This purchase does qualify for my punch card program, but does not provide hostess benefits. If you raise your product total to $50, you would qualify for a Sale-a-bration product!

I am selecting February colors and patterns currently, and will update you in the February Newsletter, and of course here.

Have a creative day!

Stampin Sundays Video #3 Smoosh Background & Great Kits!

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by. Today's card was created using the smoosh background paper, created in my techniques class today. Thanks again Ladies for your attendance, and I hope you enjoyed class today as much as I did! I am already hard at work for next month's techniques.
In the video I explain how I created the card, and the supplies used were:

Supplies:

Smoosh Background paper 4 x 5 created with SU! Green Galore, and Tempting Turquoise Inks
SU! Taken with Teal Cardstock 4 x 5
SU! Tempting Turquoise Ribbon approx 9 inches
SU! Taken with Teal Ink
Acrylic Stamp from the $1 bin at Joann's
SU! Medium Oval Punch
SU! Word Window Punch
SU! Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
Zig Glue Pen
Adhesive

Also today's video goes over some kits I obtained at a wonderful crop I attended yesterday to benefit Trinity Nursery School, hosted by Carol Phillips. Way to Go Carol! A wonderful day, and I truly hope you host more in the future.

I spoke about a kit called Sugar Plum Holiday, by Club Scrap. This is the 6 page kit, I obtained by being invited to a home workshop, Demonstrated by Monicarol Nickelson. I am so glad I picked up the kit. The method used to create the pages is called Assembly Line Scrapbooking. Club Scrap has many things for sale to members of it's club or through your local demonstrator.
Fantastic monthly kit pizza boxes, stocked to the brim with their gorgeous paper, stamps and embellishments. This is also the source of where I purchased the fantastic Tonic Guillotine Cutter-definitely on my top 5 must have.

Check it out: http://www.clubscrap.com/

The second kit I speak of was a Close to My Heart Level 2 kit, that Carol Phillips had designed the layout, and pre-cut all of the pages...it was heavenly. Beautiful colors which I understand are all brand new this season for CTMH. Check out this kit, which also had scrap paper left over, enough to create several cards, by checking out Carol's website.

I have attempted to speak louder this week, and I hope there isn't as much out of focus...lol!

Hope you have a creative week!

Stampin Sundays

Hello everyone! I have begun learning about video editing so I thought I would challenge myself to create a video on Snday mornings that is stamping or scrapping related. Well, I started this at 9am this morning...so you can see a learning curve exists!

The video which follows is in 2 parts due to size constraints by Blogger and Youtube. It is just me making a card for Carol Phillips quarterly swap. We were challenged to use a stamp we had'nt used or mildly used that made us smile, a fun concept. I went immediately to my $1 acrylic stamps and chose a bear holding a chocolate chip cookie and added a sentiment " Friends are the chocolate chips in the cookies of life"

I will post a supply list, but I wanted to point out a technique I used in the video, and that is using Goo Gone grease remover and a Fantastix coloring tool to smooth out my Prismacolor pencil on the bear. Both the Goo Gone and the Fantastix coloring tool cost a few dollars each- Goo Gone around $1.99 at your hardware store, and Fantastix come in a pack of 5 for about the same at your craft store. The Prismacolor pencils are very expensive, but well worth it for the results using this technique. I opted for a tin of 24 Prismacolor pencils instead of Copic markers due to the price. The 24 set ran me about $19.99 with a coupon at AC Moore, and they last a really long time. I have yet to try Copic markers, but at $6.99 each, I am waiting!

Try it out , I am sure you will like the results.

Supply list:

SU! Kraft cardstock 4 1/4 x 11 , scored at 5 1/2
SU! Very Vanilla cardstock 3 1/2 x 3 1/2, plus scrap for stamping image and sentiment
AC Black Heavyweight textured cardstock 4 1/4 x 3 3/4
Dry wall tape ( yes, really....)
American Crafts red dashed grograin ribbon
Stickles glitter glue in Diamond- for eyes and cookie

SU! Classic Ink in Basic Black
Colorbox Catseye pigment ink in Jet Black
$1 mini clear stamp-Inkadinkadoo-purchased at JoAnn's Fabrics
SU! medium Oval punch
SU! Scallop Circle punch
SU! dimensionals

Leave me a commet as to how I did for my first video, I am taking all suggestions! I also apologize in advance for out of focus, out of frame, length, etc, etc.

Enjoy!
