Vintage Image Cards

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

I was reading a blog that I follow today and got some inspiration that I wanted to share. I have a link below to Beatriz Jennings blog, and boy is she talented! Be sure to check out these amazing designs she creates: http://iralamija.blogspot.com/

Today Beatriz posted a link to a free vintage clip art site: http://vintageholidaycrafts.com/
so I checked it out. Lots of beautiful images you can download for free. I got a little carried away and turned seven images into cards tonight. No stamping , but lots of layering, glitter pen, ribbon, lace, and buttons. I have kept them sentiment free until I decide who I will send them to, and then add on the sentiment that fits the event.

Just wanted to say Thanks Beatriz! I really had fun creating these, and it got me to flex my scrapbooking muscles, sort of...

Be sure to check out Beatriz's blog, her Etsy store, and vintageholidaycrafts.com for a little new inspiration. Oh- somewhere on Beatriz's blog she had made a carousel out of paper that was beautiful, just like everything she makes, check it out!

Have a great week!

Wild Card Cricut Cartridge Lots of Options!

Happy Sunday Everyone,

Today I was very fortunate I had saved up my coupons and rewards certificates and hit my two favorite stores, Michaels and AC Moore. I had been really wanting to purchase the Wild Card Cricut Cartridge, because I heard many good things about it. I was really lucky because it was on Sale at both shops $40 at Michaels and $42 at AC Moore. I picked one up, and started playing around with it, and much to my surprise, it has quite a bit packed into it for your $$.
Most cartidges have letters or icons to die cut, but Wild Card has Card bases, liners, icons, Full Alphabet, upper and lowercase, sentiments, numbers ,punctuation and frames which is a lot more that I remember from other cartridges I have gotten in the past.
I own the original Cricut machine, and I made a 5 1/2 "card today in 10 minutes!

Just thought I would share what a value this is, and encourage you to dive in as well.

Patterned Papers are by K & Co. -Wild Raspberry
Stamps are Stampin Up!- On your Birthday and Oval All

Easter Side Step Card Bunny

Happy Easter Everyone!

Today I made a card I cased from Jackie Topa. If you visit her blog, you will find a great guide for cutting and scoring the side step card. Here is a link:
http://jackietopa.typepad.com/addicted_to_stamping/2009/02/side-step-card-.html

Today's video focused on the bunny made from Stampin Up punches. To create the bunny you will need:

White Card Stock, Black Cardstock, and a Designer Series paper of your choice for the egg
The following Stampin' Up Punches and I have indicated how many of each following the item:

Wide Oval: (3) from white (1) from DSP- 2 for feet, 1 for body, DSP for egg
Oval: (8)- 4 for ears, 2 for arms, 2 for legs/haunches-all from white
1 3/4 Circle- (1) from white for head
Triple heart (2) 1 medium heart for nose area. 1 tiny heart for nose, 1 tiny heart for teeth-all white
3/4 circle (2) for eyes-from white
1/4 circle (2) for eyes- from black

You will also need:
Regal Rose Marker
Black fine tip Marker
White Gel Pen
tweezers- to make it easier
Quickie glue Pen
Adhesive

I have found to punch everything first, and do a dry fitting of the bunny first helps, then adhere everything down. I don't show it in the video, but the white gel pen is for the eyes...

I kept running over time constraints so the video is trimmed, please forgive any talking that may have been edited!

I hope you enjoy- Thanks Jackie for a great inspiration!

I hope your Easter was wonderful!

Paper Flowers for Mom's Birthday

Happy April! Wow, can you believe it's April already? April brings wonderful things besides showers around here, it brings my Mother's birthday for a start, and my parents wedding anniversary near the end. Today's project is a simple way to make a bouquet of paper flowers like the tin bucket full I made that is shown in the video.

For this project you will need:

Flower Punch about 1 1/2 inches in size
Patterned Paper that is double sided- I used the Stampin' Up! Salebrations Designer Series Paper Pack
Glue Dots
Brads
Floral wire
Florist tape
Ribbon- I used SU! Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Very Vanilla 1/4 grosgrain ribbon
Vessel for your bouquet- I used a tin bucket
Styrofoam filler
Lace pieces

Leaves- Cut using my Cricut Dis Cutting machine- and Walk In the Garden Cartridge-Leaf #3
Butterflys were punched out using Martha Stewarts 2 Butterfly Punches.

Thank you Candy for helping me fluff up the flowers!

I hope you enjoy the simple technique, and make a bunch of these for your friends and family.

Wishing you a creative week!

Happy Birthday Mom!
