Belleview Ave Flea Market

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to let you know of a great opportunity I have been given. A gentlemen who works with me at the hotel is opening his own flea market. He has offered me the opportunity to be one of his vendors, and share my cards and crafts, and I will have workshop space.  This is an indoor flea market which is heated, and located on Belleview Ave in Hammonton, NJ.

The first weekend is this upcoming weekend December 11, 12 and 13. Hours are 9am-4pm daily Friday through Sunday. I will only be there on Saturdays and Sundays, and this weekend to start, only on Saturday, as the cookie exchange was previously scheduled for Sunday.

So, I have been busy, planning and making stocking stuffer and small gifts for Saturday.I am very flattered that John asked me to participate, as the vendors are limited to one of each type of item. John does electronics, and I am aware of a jewlery person. There are approximately 12 vendors.

If you are in the area, come check us out!

Christmas Scrapbook Pages

Hi Everyone!

It has been a while since  I have posted. Today I was fortunate to have a workshop where we made 5 Christmas themed Scrapbook Pages. The pages were created from Stampin Up!'s Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin Kit. I also added a few touches of embellishments made using Stampin Up! products such as the punch pal Reindeer using the Tulipe Big Shot die-(Thank you to Angie Kennedy Juda  for her tutorial). Also used the new snowflake punch, and the Wandering Words stamp set. Also I had misplaced my video camera, but I have since found it, so I will attach a short video on the pages. The link below will take you to my You Tube channel.

Stampin Up is also having a big sale until 11/30/09. Lots of things on clearance, and they may only be ordered online. Check my sidebar and link directly to my demonstrator site for 24 hr shopping.

Hope your Thanksgiving was happy!

Halloween is right around the corner....

Hi Everyone!

Just a funny picture I snapped today of our cat Geddy.

Yes, that is a black cat drinking out of a witches cauldron....your eyes do not deceive you. I decorated our front porch and yard today for Halloween, and I have this little cauldron that actually bubbles. Geddy is master inspector of everything, so right after I set it up, he had his nose right down in it...too funny! This is the cat that loves water as well...we can't have any normal pets in this family.

Hope everyone is enjoying the fall weather...take joy in the little things.

Be Back soon with some projects!

My Beautiful Scotia

Scotia
March 17 1992-October 10,2008

I can't believe a year has passed since we said goodbye. I think about you everyday. How funny you were, and how much you made me smile.  How finicky you were about your food, and how you used to sleep right beside me with your head on my shoulder.  I miss you so much. I hope you are at peace, and have forgiven me for letting you go, as it was the right choice. You will always be my favorite, special and best cat anyone could have ever had. I was so lucky to have you in my life.

Hello Everyone!

Sorry it has been such a long time between posts! What can I say...really busy with work.

Today's video shows three different packaging ideas, that I found on the resource section of Split Coast.

All materials used are Stampin Up! with the exception of the large scallop circle die used to cut out the layers, and the witch image.

Colors are: Dusty Durango, and Crushed Curry from the In Colors, and Old Olive.

Stamped Set: (Retired) Hey Ghoul Friend -Stampin Up

Check out split coast for great inspiration and check back for a holiday class where I make these items for Christmas.

Thanks for Watching!

Giving Back

Hi Everyone!

Hope everyone had an enjoyable summer! I worked a whole lot, but found some time for fun too. Each fall when the local kids go back to school, I find myself wanting to get back to scrapping and stamping. I have to push myself for inspiration though. I always want to jump right to Halloween, with all the fun colorful designs and papers available...I just love it!

A few of the blogs I follow had made mention of some opportunities for card drives to some really deserving folks, and also a scrapbooking/card making charity, That I wanted to share:

http://www.sendlovetoday.com/ Send Love Today is a nonprofit organization that provides emotional support to brain tumor patients and their families in the form of cards and small gifts. Our inspiration is derived from the life of Stacy L. Thomas, whose courageous journey with brain cancer ended in January 2004. His fighting spirit and unending bravery inspired family and friends alike. Stacy taught us all the true meaning of life, and his lifetime motto was “Never Give Up”.

One of the blogs I follow the girl said that she keeps a priority mail box- large size on hand and when she comes across something in her stash that she will not use, or wants to donate, she fills the box up and mails it to: Send Love Today
PO Box 528
Berea, Ohio 44017
This organization takes the items she sends and creates cards and gifts for the brain tumor patients mentioned above. I know we all have a box or two to share...I am starting to follow this lead.

Another great organization is: http://operationwritehome.org/index.html also known as Cards for Heros. They just had a birthday, and are collecting hand made cards of all types to send to our troops. They do have some things they would like you to exclude, like excessive glitter and they have size requirements, so please consult the web page prior to submission.

One of my favorite artists is Jennifer Maguire, and she is involved with Cards for Heros and currently is holding a card drive for Cards for Kate.

http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/ Stop by Jennifer's website and read Kate's story, and send a card or two. Jennifer is so generous she is even giving prizes...some from Tim Holtz. The story and cause is very moving, and participating is the prize itself.

I hope these few links have given you some inspiration for creating.

Have a wonderful week!
